I consider myself lucky
It may sound a little strange to say this about myself, but I consider myself a lucky person.

It may sound a little strange to say this about myself, but I consider myself a lucky person.
Not because I've won the lottery or happened to stumble upon great opportunities.
I feel fortunate because, throughout my life, I've been blessed with connections that have continually enriched it.
To me, luck isn't about chance.
It's about the people I've met at different stages of life—and the remarkable staying power of the relationships we've built together.
I don't think "strong" or "weak" relationships quite capture what I mean.
I think of them as enduring connections.
Just before returning to the United States from Japan, I received a message from several former colleagues I had worked with nearly twenty-five years ago. We met at a small obanzai restaurant in Ōimachi.
Looking back, we probably worked in the same department and with the same customers for only a few years.
Yet something remarkable happened.
The moment we sat down and started talking, memories came flooding back—former teammates, customers, managers, stories we hadn't thought about in decades.
Although each of us had spent the last twenty-five years following completely different paths, the connection was still there.
It had simply endured.
It's a different feeling from reconnecting with college friends.
There's something unique about people who shared a meaningful chapter of your professional life.
Thankfully, I've been fortunate to build these kinds of enduring connections with people all over the world.
Japan. The United States. Ireland. Scotland. France. Germany. Singapore. Mexico. Brazil. Egypt. India.
...and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few places.
To me, an enduring connection is one where, no matter how much time has passed, picking up the conversation feels like continuing one that was paused only yesterday.
That's why I consider myself lucky.
Not because life has always gone according to plan.
But because I've been fortunate enough to walk through life alongside so many remarkable people.

Feel free to reach out anytime. For first-time clients, sessions are offered for the deposit amount only ($5). This deposit will be fully credited toward your second session, so the first session is effectively free.
I would love to offer the first session completely free, but in the past, fully free bookings sometimes led to no-shows. To prevent that and to protect everyone’s time, I’ve chosen this approach.
